DEVATOP BUILD THE CAPACITY OF TEACHERS ON HUMAN TRAFFICKING AND IN ENUGU STATE
July 28, 2022
To tackle the raging menace of human trafficking, rape and domestic violence in our society, there is the need to sensitize vulnerable persons who are mostly school-age people between the ages of 11-21 years old. This will serve as a preventive force that will forestall the activities of perpetrators of human right abuses.
Under the Talkam Against Trafficking and Abuse Project, DEVATOP engaged in grassroot sensitization in schools by training teachers who will be advocates and mandated to sensitize their students against human trafficking and gender-based violence. 10 teachers from various schools in Enugu State were trained and equipped with materials to sensitize their students.
Present AT the training were members of the Enugu State Ministry of Education, facilitators from the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Person, Network Against Child Trafficking Abuse and Labor and other relevant stakeholders.
The trained teachers were tasked with the responsibility of sensitizing their students and various schools. This according to the project coordinator will make students less vulnerable to human trafficking and gender-based violence.
