HUMAN RIGHT CASES REPORTED IN NIGERIA IN THE MONTH OF JUNE 2022

Human right abuses are the violation of the basic rights of people. Civil and political rights are violated through genocide, torture, and arbitrary arrest, child labour, human trafficking, extra-judicial killing etc.
In June 2022, Nigeria experienced yet a number of sad cases of human rights abuses.
A military personnel flogged a 16 year old student to death for “keeping bushy hair” Command Secondary School, Enugu.
In same month, a 21 years old David Ogwo was accomplished by Chimaobi Anyim to drug and killed his girlfriend and sell her baby for N150,000.
Following a sad incidence that happened with the burning of Deborah Samule for alleged blasphemy in Sokoto State Nigeria and another sound engineer lynched to death in May 2022, the country has been hit by various news of extrajudicial killings across the country. A 30 years old member of a local vigilante group, Ahmad Usman, was killed in Lugbe area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on the 4th of June 2022.
